Try make a healthy refreshing ice pop with fresh fruit. Its delicious! :)
3 cups watermelon puree or honeydew melon
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
1/2 cup chopped fresh strawberries
1 kiwi, peeled and sliced
handful fresh cherries, pitted and chopped
Cut the watermelon into chunks and then puree it in a blender until smooth.
Set out popsicle molds and fill each one with the chopped fruit, then pour in the melon puree until each mold is full to the top.
Place a popsicle stick into each one of them and place into the freezer for about 6 to 8 hours.
This is the illustration of my mum's amazing elderflower syrup.
* 20-25 elderflower umbels
* 2kg sugar
* 3 litre water
* 80g citric acid
* a few lemon slices.
1. Put 2 kg sugar and 3 litres water into a large saucepan.
Gently heat, without boiling until the sugar has dissolved.
Once the sugar has dissolved, turn off the heat and let it cool.
2. Now add 20-25 flowers to the syrup along with a few lemonslices and 80g
3. Cover the pan and leave to infuse for 2 days.
4. After two days your syrup is ready to be filled into sterilised bottles.
After being fed up by the crazy consumerism every christmas, I decided last year to only give homemade christmas gifts. One of them was this lovely marmalade- which everone loved!
